About ME!
As a child, I loved playing with barbie dolls. I made sure their hair was perfect, their outfits matched to our theme while playing, And to designing their dresses with scraps of fabric found under my mom's stitching machine table. Lil did I know I was interested in fashion.
As I grew up, Life changed lots of thoughts and dreams. I wanted to major in Arts, but I guess my dad knew better. He enrolled me in Nirmala Niketan College (College of Home Science). There too again I had a different idea and dream in mind. I wanted to major in Human development due to my love for Psychology. But God had a plan. Our specializations were chosen by our teachers. And I got Textiles!
And there I was, wondering what to do next, as I scored pretty bad marks and it was the least of my interests. But eventually, I learned a lot and got my passion back for designing.
I completed my graduation in Textiles and Fashion Technology. Post college, I have worked with five garment houses. Three of which is where I learned about embroideries, and one was a fashion institute where I worked as a faculty and the other company is where I learned about cloth bags.
That's where my interest in bags and designing them was born. Taking this interest of mine, I ran to my boss asking him to give me a chance at designing. But he assured me I was good where I was and that he needed me there as I was very good at handling production. I accepted it. I put a hold on my designing and waited till the time was right. Eventually I quit that company as I was leaving to Dubai for sometime. Coming back to Mumbai, I decided to put this talent and passion of mine to use. And that's where my company PannaCotta Creations journey began. I started off with this name to launch my designs and today with six years of being an entrepreneur, I'm very happy to launch our brand La Pearlita under PannaCotta Creations.
The hardwork and the immense love and passion I have for designs, pushed me to move forward. It took a while to launch exclusive collections, I took each step very slowly and I would be afraid to take any risks. But eventually I took the chance and here I am.
Fashion for me has always been such, that I would dress to impress and would walk this world knowing its my Runway.
